Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and developed a passion to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial time she tried out, she was ranked second for 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and later enrolled in University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s and set the new world junior record. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top 3 throughout her races during the Olympics which took place during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
